A fan threw a baseball at San Diego left fielder Jurickson Profar and then threw trash into the right field seats, leading the Padres to a 10-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday night and clinching the NL District Series. There was a long delay before the scores were evened at one game at a time.

Profar was interacting with Dodgers fans near the fence in the first inning of the game after stealing a home run from Los Angeles' Mookie Betts, and although he initially made it seem like he wasn't, he ended up doing so. Betts, who revealed he had thrown the ball, was already around second base, so it was in.
A delay in the middle of the seventh inning resulted in two baseballs being thrown at Profar from the stands, resulting in a 12-minute pause between pitches. He chased one of them, but the guard caught up to him first. Trash was also thrown on the right field warning track near the Padres' bullpen.
Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis said, “I feel like when we crossed the line, they started throwing things down the field.” “I felt like that shouldn't happen in a major league game.”
At Dodger Stadium, boos continued from the packed crowd of 54,119, the largest crowd this season.
“The bears have been pecked at for a while. It's been pointed out for years and decades,” Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill said. “We finally got the firepower and we were finally able to get it to the team. They're a good team. I love the way they play. They give us a fight every time. It won't stop.”
The series moves to San Diego, where the Padres will play back-to-back home games in the tough environment of San Diego's Petco Park.
“It's great to play baseball in the postseason,” Padres infielder Manny Machado said.
