The San Diego Padres won Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-2 on Sunday, although the game was marred by fans throwing things onto the field.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the game was briefly delayed when a fan threw a baseball in the direction of left fielder Jurickson Profar. More objects were then thrown at right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr.

Umpires paused the game as the Dodgers' public address announcer urged fans not to throw things on the field. Padres manager Mike Shildt assembled an improvised team on the field as security took control of the situation.
“He wanted to make sure the players were safe,” FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal said on the air about Shildt's concerns amid the chaotic situation. “People were throwing debris at the players and he feared they were in danger.”
As the game heated up, Tatis was seen continuing to bite a fan in the Padres dugout.
It was a longer night than expected for the Dodgers.

Tatis started the game with a solo home run off Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty in the first inning. In the bottom of the inning, Profar stole a home run from Mookie Betts and began a back-and-forth battle with a fan sitting near the left-field fence at Dodger Stadium.
Flaherty then fed Tatis a pitch, causing a verbal fight with Manny Machado during the game. This may have excited the crowd as the match continued.

But what matters on the scoreboard is that's where San Diego had the advantage. The Padres won the game, tying the series.
The Padres scored three runs each in the 8th and 9th innings. In the eighth inning, Jackson Merrill broke the game with a two-run home run. Tatis added a home run in the top of the ninth inning.
