Paige Spiranac has low expectations for her Creator Classic performance

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac is keeping expectations low for her performance at Wednesday's Creator Classic at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Creator Classic is a 16-player tournament organized by the PGA Tour and will feature some of the top players in the golf content industry, including Spiranac.

Spiranac played Division I collegiate golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University, but seemed unsure of how she would perform in the nine-hole tournament.

“You might lose most of your golf balls and still win, but that's it (laughs).” She responded on social media She was the one person who predicted that either she or Mac Boucher would win.

The social media personality has poked fun at himself on social media on several occasions, including comparing his play to that of Peyton Manning in less than favorable ways.

And when another user told her not to be the last She replied“That's a result I expected.” (laughs)

Spiranac has a huge social media following – her Instagram account has 4 million followers – and she's one of the creators responsible for the growing popularity of golf content on YouTube and other platforms.

In July, The Athletic reported that golf content on YouTube had been viewed more than 4.3 billion times in the first 90 days this year.

The PGA Tour has taken notice of the popularity of content and created the Creator Classic in hopes of driving new attention to the Tour.

“We also expect the PGA Tour to bring some of the diverse audience that watches the PGA Tour on ESPN and the Golf Channel on Thursdays and Fridays,” Chris Wandell, the PGA Tour's senior vice president of media, said of part of the Creators Classic's objectives.

“Or maybe some fans will tune in on Sunday on NBC as the final results close in. Maybe some fans who don't normally watch the PGA Tour will tune in.”
