Paige Spiranac Supports Tiger Woods
Paige Spiranac has stepped in to offer support for Tiger Woods following his recent DUI arrest in Florida. Influencers in the golf community have rallied behind Woods after he announced his intention to seek treatment.
“I think we’re all rooting for Tiger,” Spiranac posted on X. “It’s more about him as a person than as a golfer. None of us can truly grasp what he’s endured, both mentally and physically. We don’t condone his actions, but we hope he feels safe and finds the help he needs without added pressure from critics during this tough time.”
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods, 50, rolled his luxury SUV near his Florida home while trying to navigate around a flatbed truck at high speed. It seems he had to swerve to avoid oncoming traffic, leading to the collision with the truck.
Budensiek noted that Woods “was showing signs of impairment” during the incident.
The golf legend entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday but could face up to a year in prison if convicted. Although he reportedly registered a negative breathalyzer test, it’s been reported that he had hydrocodone pills on him at the time of the crash.
This marks the fourth car crash involving Woods related to drunk driving since 2017, when he was found guilty of a lesser charge—reckless driving—and avoided prison through a diversion program.
On Tuesday night, Woods addressed the situation publicly after pleading not guilty. “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he stated in a social media post. “I will be taking a period of time off to receive treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary to prioritize my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery.”
He further expressed his commitment to taking the time needed to return to a healthier, stronger, and more focused state, both personally and professionally. Woods asked for privacy for himself and his family during this challenging time.
