Page Spiranak Defends Bryson DeChambeau Amid Ryder Cup Criticism
Golf influencer Page Spiranak came to the defense of Bryson DeChambeau after Brandel Chamblee of the Golf Channel criticized the American golfer during live coverage of the 2025 Ryder Cup.
Earlier this week, Brandel expressed his disappointment that DeChambeau seemed more interested in discussing his YouTube channel than focusing on the tournament taking place at Beth Page Black in New York.
Some critics labeled DeChambeau as a “strange duck,” suggesting he could pose challenges for the team captain. Brandel even hinted that DeChambeau’s YouTube metrics might be inflated by bots.
Spiranac responded to Chamblee’s harsh comments, stating, “Brandel’s take that Bryson is a ‘captain’s nightmare’ is, well, quite odd. He’s actually a fantastic fit for this kind of team event. He energizes people! I think it’ll be exciting to see how this week unfolds.”
Additionally, Spiranac noted that Chamblee had blocked her on social media. She added with a hint of sarcasm, “I guess he’s trying to inspire himself,” referring to Chamblee’s long-standing critical views of DeChambeau since his departure from the LIV Golf PGA Tour in 2022.
Chamblee remarked on DeChambeau’s YouTube discussions, saying, “It’s suspicious if those views are generated artificially. There’s certainly reason to believe many of those views come from bots.”
Chamblee continued, “That’s partly why I find him difficult to pair up with. Sure, he’s an incredible golfer with a generous rapport with fans—I’ve heard that. But he’s definitely a unique character.”
DeChambeau, now 32, is making his third appearance in the Ryder Cup, holding a record of 2-3-1 overall.
As the event began, DeChambeau and Team USA showcased a strong start on Friday with an impressive opening shot.
Outside of the golf course, he’s also recognized for his significant online following, particularly his YouTube channel, which boasts 2.43 million subscribers.
