Pakistan Army Involvement Most Politically Sensitive, Sources on Operation Sindoor

New Developments in India’s Operation Sindoah

Recent events have further highlighted the involvement of Pakistani forces in aiding terrorist attacks against India. This became particularly evident when defending the terrorist infrastructure targeted by India’s missile strikes.

Under the operation termed Sindoah, India executed 24 precise missile strikes across nine locations: Muzafarabad, Kotri, Bahawalpur, Rawarakot, Chakwari, Bimbar, Neelam Valley, Jelam, and Chakwar.

The strikes primarily aimed at camps associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JEM). Preliminary reports indicate that over 70 militants were killed, with more than 60 sustaining injuries, which has notably weakened these organizations’ capabilities.

Perhaps the most significant aspect of Operation Sindoah is the allegations against the Pakistani military for its role in supporting these terrorist infrastructures. While such accusations are not new, this time the scale and timing of the operation reflect India’s commitment to act based on long-standing intelligence assessments.

Military and intelligence officials in India have pointed to evidence suggesting that the Pakistani military, particularly elements linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), provides various forms of support—including logistics, safe havens, training, and funding—to terrorist groups functioning within Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Punjab.

The proximity of certain terrorist camps to recognized military facilities has raised suspicions that these sites are being deliberately protected. In some instances, terrorists have been observed using Pakistani Army resources as cover or gaining unrestricted access to restricted areas. Despite numerous international calls for action, Pakistan’s establishment has scarcely dismantled these networks.

India is pressing for global acknowledgment of the contradictory roles played by Pakistani forces while also seeking the destruction of terrorist infrastructure. The Pakistani military has attempted to position itself as a responsible entity on the global stage, while simultaneously fostering violent non-state actors.

To bolster its diplomatic efforts, India has circulated intelligence briefs to major global powers, documenting the links between Pakistani military personnel and targeted groups. These briefs include intercepted communications, satellite images, and financial transaction patterns, aiming to enhance India’s diplomatic stance and advocate for the international designation of certain Pakistan-based individuals and groups as global terrorists.
