Pakistan claims it downed drones from India the day after attacks.

Pakistan reported shooting down an Indian drone just a day after India launched a strike on territory it controls, as per the Associated Press.

The report indicated that Pakistani forces claimed the drone, which they identified as Indian, was brought down by four soldiers.

A military spokesperson from Pakistan stated that several drones made in Israel had been sent into their airspace, and that they had shot down 25 of these. This was noted to have taken place until the previous evening and continued into Thursday afternoon.

According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, their troops targeted air defense radars and systems in various regions of Pakistan.

This strike followed an incident from the previous month where tourists were killed in Indian-controlled territory. Pakistani officials claimed that the Indian attack resulted in 31 fatalities and left 57 individuals injured.

The Indian Ministry of Defense stated that the operation was aimed at nine locations associated with planning terrorist attacks against India.

In response, Pakistan condemned the military action, dubbing it an “illegal act of war.” Their National Security Commission issued a statement asserting that these actions were clear violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty, qualifying as acts of war under international law.

“I know both well. I want to see them solve it,” Trump remarked during a press briefing on Wednesday, urging for a de-escalation between the two nations.
