The Iranian-backed terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday released a video of Sasha Trufanov, a 29-year-old Russian-Israeli hostage, in an apparent attempt to pressure Israel to stop rescuing hostages. It appears that the intention was to

It is unknown when this video was created. In the clip, Trufanov says he is 28 years old. However, the video was released two days after he turned 29, his second birthday in captivity.

The terrorist organization has previously released similar videos of hostages in what Israel claims is a deplorable psychological warfare operation.
In his video, Trufanov spoke about how there is a lack of sufficient food, water, sanitation and medicine. This is a tactic the terrorist organization has used in other videos to create a sense of bitterness among Israelis, even if it means acknowledging their own atrocities.
He also said that the terrorists were protecting him from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and that the Israeli soldiers became afraid of being killed during the rescue.
Previous hostage videos contain similar messages, all clearly recorded under duress and intended to deter the IDF and destabilize the Israeli government.
