The rise in temperatures is the result of a heatwave that hit large parts of the state away from the coastline.
of San Francisco Chronicle report:
Palm Springs broke its daytime temperature record on Friday, when the airport’s official weather station recorded a high of 124 degrees, breaking the previous record of 123 degrees set in June 2021.
The temperature is one of the hottest ever recorded in California outside of Death Valley.
Although the state is currently facing a major threat of wildfires due to the hot weather, that didn’t stop Governor Gavin Newsom (D) from traveling, first visiting the White House to support President Joe Biden, and then campaigning for Biden in the key battleground state of Michigan on the 4th of July.
Biden has come under increasing pressure to resign following his poor performance in a recent debate with former President Donald Trump.
