After encountering turbulence at the Hamptons airport, Kygo’s Palm Tree Music Festival ended up being held on land owned by the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton.
We exclusively reported that the trendy electronic music festival, headlined by Swedish House Mafia, is now in its fourth year and is set to take place at Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach on June 22nd.
But even after the music event protested, the Federal Aviation Administration denied the festival’s permit.
“Most of the questions from the FAA were about the schedule for the runway closure since the airport is operational,” a source said of the reason for the refusal. The festival then lost its venue.
A statement from Palm Tree reads: “We are pleased to announce to our eagerly awaited attendees that the Palm Tree Music Festival will be held in a new location this year, at the Shinnecock Nation in Southampton, for the fourth time.
