Attorney General Targets Former Admin Officials

Attorney General Pam Bondi has highlighted her team’s efforts to investigate key figures from the Obama and Biden administrations who are alleged to have violated laws against conservatives.

The Justice Department head, currently recovering from eye surgery, pointed out that federal prosecutors are looking into weapons cases that date back to the Russiagate scandal.

“At my direction, U.S. attorneys and federal investigators are actively probing cases involving government weapon use across the country,” Bondi mentioned in a written interview published on Sunday. She added, “This is a 10-year stain on this country perpetrated against the American people by high-ranking officials.”

Recently, Bondi faced pressure from MAGA influencers who expressed frustration over the lack of prosecution of members from the now-dismantled House of Commons January 6 Select Committee.

While it’s unclear what specific crimes the influencers believe the January 6 committee members committed, their criticism prompted Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon to respond harshly.

Bondi is under increasing pressure from both former President Trump and the Republican base to take a more aggressive stance against former officials who have criticized him and other conservatives.

An earlier straw poll conducted by Turning Point USA indicated that she had one of the highest disapproval ratings among Trump’s cabinet members. Insights suggest that Bondi believes the evidence regarding weapons supports a strong conspiracy case.

“This evidence suggests that instead of ensuring public safety, the FBI utilized excessive legal measures to shield politicians like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton, while targeting conservative causes,” Bondi stated.

Critics from the left have accused the Trump administration of using these weapons charges as a way to retaliate against former officials from the previous administrations.

In response to these challenges, President Trump appointed pardon attorney Ed Martin to head a task force focusing on the alleged weaponization of the government against conservatives.

Bondi asserted that the Trump administration is “repairing damage and delivering justice,” claiming that her team has presented “an unprecedented number of documents to Congress regarding the weaponization of government.”

Under her leadership, federal prosecutors are reportedly pursuing indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York State Attorney General Letitia James, while also investigating former CIA Director John Brennan and others.

Though the charges against Comey and James have been dismissed in court, the Justice Department is seeking to revive those cases.

“The Department of Justice takes the weaponization of government seriously, which includes safeguarding civil liberties, preventing election interference, and holding wrongdoers accountable,” Bondi stated, concluding with, “No one is above the law, even if they think they are.”
