Paramount, Under Fire Following Charlie Kirk's Assassination, Removes Episode Satirizing Him from TV: 'Blood on Their Hands'

Comedy Central’s long-running series South Park recently provoked significant outrage with an episode featuring Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, following his assassination on Wednesday.

According to reports from the Daily Express, the show has previously lampooned several notable figures, and in this episode, Kirk was among those satirized.

In the lead-up to the event, South Park had taken several jabs at prominent media personalities, including Kirk, portrayed in a controversial light. In the episode, Cartman impersonated Kirk during a debate on a college campus.

Cartman remarked, “I’m incredibly skilled at this! My argument is truly solid. These young college girls aren’t fully prepared, so I can really take them apart.”

Many viewers have pushed for South Park to acknowledge the response to Kirk’s portrayal, which some, including Kirk himself, found amusing at first but later reconsidered.

“The episodes poking fun at Charlie were certainly entertaining; however, I’m not sure they landed as intended,” commented former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Paula Scanlan. She wondered, “Why is it only one side that seems to bear the brunt of this criticism? It’s puzzling how readily the media and entertainment industries depict the right wing in such a negative light.”

Another viewer stated, “While South Park has the freedom to create, if they continue to support @Charliekirk11, it could represent a crucial moment for America. Perhaps this show can help shift perspectives.”

One person expressed strong disapproval, claiming, “Both South Park and Paramount have blood on their hands. I demand those episodes be removed! Charlie Kirk was a hero for all patriots.”

Another individual questioned, “Are we going to ignore the fact that South Park‘s latest parody sparked hatred towards Charlie Kirk?”

According to a report from azcentral.com, a rerun of a South Park episode featuring Kirk was pulled from airing late Wednesday.

Following Kirk’s assassination, President Donald Trump directed that American flags be flown at half-staff in his honor, describing Kirk as “a great American patriot.”
