An 18-year-old college student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was reportedly found dead just 500 feet from where he went missing. According to , his parents are now seeking details about the circumstances that led to his disappearance and subsequent death. NBC News.
Ish and Ritu Dhawan from the Bay Area were notified that their son, Akul, had been missing since attending a party the night before. It appears that one of Akul’s friends was the first to report the incident to authorities. When Ishu and Ritu learned of their son’s disappearance, they called campus police seeking answers about their son’s whereabouts.
Ish said the parents were transported to the county coroner, who said “he was deceased.” “I couldn’t believe it. No one bothered to tell me.”
