California parents are expressing their outrage towards Six Flags after a rollercoaster incident left their daughter in critical condition. Naomi Greer-Wilkinson, 25, was enjoying a day at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia with her twin brother and younger sister when she lost consciousness while riding the infamous X2 rollercoaster back in July.
“Naomi should have never had the option to get on that ride,” her mother commented, clearly distraught. Her father echoed the sentiment, stating that those responsible for keeping the X2 operational last month “have a lot to answer for,” adding that something has to change.
Following her loss of consciousness, Naomi was rushed to a hospital where doctors found she had suffered a serious traumatic brain injury and required emergency surgery. She remains in a coma and is reliant on a ventilator and feeding tube to survive.
“This is the hardest thing a human being could experience. It’s just cruel,” her mother expressed, underscoring the family’s pain.
This incident is not an isolated one; over the past 24 years, X2 has been linked to two deaths and many injuries. Just days before Naomi’s incident, a woman from Hawaii experienced a similar fate—she was thrown into distress on the ride, resulting in a life-threatening brain injury that required surgery.
In June 2022, another tragic incident occurred when 22-year-old Christopher Hawley lost his life after riding the X2. Similarly, a woman named Hilda Farias also died after her ride on the rollercoaster in 2010.
Since July 12, the X2 rollercoaster has been closed, and when approached for comment, the amusement park had nothing further to say regarding the occurrences surrounding it.
