Parents of Kansas City Chiefs fans found dead in backyard break silence as 2 suspects are charged

The two Kansas City Chiefs' parents have mixed feelings following the arrest of two men charged with manslaughter on Wednesday, when a lively body was found frozen in their friend's backyard.

Ricky Johnson Jr., 38, David Harrington, 37, and 36-year-old Clayton McGeeney were found dead in the backyard of fellow Jordan Willis on January 9, 2024.

Harrington's mom, Teresa, claimed she was removed from the loop 14 months after the trio's bodies were found.

“They wouldn't say anything to me,” she said. I told the Daily Mail.

She said Kansas State Police Officers were constantly saying they had not investigated the death as a murder.

“[The statements] Harrington added, making it easier for them to think they were already determined and there would be no further investigation,” Harrington added.

On Wednesday, Platt County prosecutors charged Willis and another man, Ivory Carson, of three manslaughter charges and two counts delivering controlled substances, respectively.

Johnson's father, Rick, vowed to attend each hearing involving Willis and Carson.

“I am satisfied with the claims, Platt County Prosecutor's Office and Kansas City, Missouri.” Fox 4 spoke to Kansas City. “It's been a while. And I'll be on all court dates.”

Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson Jr.'s body, both 38 years old, were discovered on Willis's property by McGeeney's fiancée two days after they gathered to watch the Chiefs' final regular season game.

The trio died from a fatal cocktail of fentanyl and cocaine. Streamed on KMBC.

HIV researcher Willis claimed he went to bed early on January 8th and didn't know that the three men were outside.

He also claimed he hadn't heard a male relative knocking on his door before his body was discovered because he was wearing headphones.

Police recovered one containing cocaine and two drugs, the other containing fentanyl.

DNA samples from cocaine bags are primarily from Willis, and Carson's DNA was found throughout the fentanyl bag, Platt County Prosecutor Eric Zahn said at a press conference Wednesday.

Police say they found a text on Willis' phone, claiming that Carson had supplied cocaine to David Harrington. Carson later admitted to selling cocaine to the trio.

“Jordan claims that he is not responsible for the purchase or supply of drugs that led to the death of three friends,” Willis' lawyer John Piquerno. He told the Kansas City star After his arrest. “We are very much looking forward to the day when the Ju judge can hear all the evidence in this case.”
