Fourteen years later, the city of Philadelphia will review the Ellen Greenberg case. Ellen Greenberg is a teacher who committed suicide after his 2011 death was found with almost 20 stab wounds and was covered with bruises. Her father then believes investigators should consider strangling the daughter as a possible cause of death.

Greenberg, 27, was found in the kitchen on January 26, 2011, during Blizzard, a half-made fruit salad on the countertop with 20 stab wounds and a knife on her chest. Dr. Marlon Osborne first judged Greenberg's death as a murder in 2011. He then reversed the course after meeting with police behind closed doors, officially ruled it was a suicide.

Just a week ago, Osborne returned to the suicide ruling.

“That's my expert opinion and the way Eren dies should be designated as something other than suicide,” he wrote. “Since I issued an amended death certificate, I have been aware of additional information that was not at the time I issued an amended death certificate that could have influenced my opinion.”

A few days later, the city of Philadelphia settled a lawsuit between Greenberg's parents Dr. Josh and Sandy Greenberg. Disguising Eren's murder As a suicide, according to legal documents.

“We have reached a settlement agreement between the city of Philadelphia and Ellen Greenberg's family,” a representative from the city's legal department confirmed in Fox News Digital. “The terms of the settlement include an independent review of the autopsy file and an explicit waiver of any claims that could result from that process.”

The city will pay Greenberg a private amount as part of the settlement, their lawyer, Joseph Podraza, told Fox News Digital.

“We felt like we were proud of Ellen,” Sandy said with her husband in an on-camera interview with Fox News Digital.

“We're now saying that Osborne shouldn't be a suicide. The former pathologist has been dealing with cases all along,” Podraza said.

“And regardless of what the city is doing, the key was Osborne and his verification. If they continue to make the mistake of this being a suicide, then it is the choice they make and Reliability will be filmed. The city will do the right thing and also designate this incident what it is, a murder.”

At the time of her death, Greenberg sent out a notice of salvation for her wedding to Sam Goldberg. Manayunk is a quiet neighborhood in Philadelphia.

“When Eren took her life, it confused me. She was a wonderful person who had everything to live. When she passed away, a part of me died with her. “A statement on Greenberg's death.

“Mental illness is very realistic and there are many victims. …I hope you will never lose someone you love, just like I've made it a terrible illness.

When asked if Goldberg had direct contact with Greenberg regarding the Eren incident, Podraza said that was not the case.

“We had no communication with Sam, and he never reached out to us to support or support our efforts,” Podraza said.

Greenberg's 20 stab wounds included 10 from the back, but court documents show that at least one person may have been given after he had already died.

“No one could do this to themselves. That's not worth it,” retired forensic pathologist and medical inspector Dr. Michel Dupre, Ph.D., told Fox News Digital.

“One of the first things I do all the time is what most forensic pathologists or medical examiners do in these cases is to try to simulate an injury. … A 10-inch knife I couldn't take it and stab it in the back. Every place I saw and described as the angle was physically and anatomically impossible.”

“As long as it takes 14 years, this is terrible,” she added in connection with the reversal of Osborne's suicide ruling.

Greenberg also found to be covered with bruises at various stages of healing, and the autopsy report suggests that he received them for a while.

“This was a passionate attack,” Podraza said. “You see Blue Things, you see Blue Things on her neck, you see Blue Things on her wrist and the spurt pattern of savage. For me, this is an attack of passion. There's no doubt.”

Many stab wounds have long been the focus of Greenberg's death, but her father shared a new theory of how her daughter died.

“I think my daughter was strangled,” he told reporters in Philadelphia this week, confirming on Fox News Digital.

“You have to consider all the training and everything I had,” Tom Brennan, who has personally researched Greenberg's death for years, told Penn Live. “There's an autopsy photo showing a wound on the neck. There's bleeding… this indicates manual strangulation.”

Dupre added: “There are clearly signs of strangulation.”

Greenberg's father claims she was “abused” and that she was injured in her body, which coincides with the abuse.

While talking to Fox News Digital after Monday's settlement, he detailed what he believes that happened at the moment that led to his daughter's death.

“Eren confronted her abuser… and it was out of hand. He put her on his head. That's where Gash comes from. And he strangled her,” he said. I said that. “Suicide is the easiest way to hide murder, so all of these 20 stab wounds, even the deepest ones at the back of the neck, were part of the concealment.”

Greenberg's death was a former murder sentence as he was given a new look by a city medical inspector for the first time in 14 years. Ted Williams told Fox News Digital that he believes “we need to decide who killed her.”

“Whether it's undecided or murders are under control, it seems there's a guarantee of further investigation,” Williams said.

ABC 27, who succeeded the Greenberg case after the 2011 suicide decision as attorney general in 2011, passed on to Greenberg's case after the suicide decision as attorney general at the time. He reported.

Shapiro said his investigation as attorney general “pointed to suicide,” adding that it is up to the Chester County District Attorney's Office to determine whether Osborne's new resolve is sufficient to advance the case. .

“It's not only does someone feel different, but you have some evidence. But certainly, if there's evidence that this medical inspector has revealed, I'm familiar with it. Not I'm not an AG anymore,” Shapiro said. “If you have new evidence, new information, you need to share it immediately.”

An independent investigation by the Chester County DA began about two years ago after Shapiro and Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner rejected the case.

The Chester County DA's office announced in November that it “currently cannot proceed with criminal charges,” but if Greenberg's case is moved to “inactive” status and the DA obtains new information. I left it open to reconsider.

Before this week's settlement with the city, Greenberg has been caught up in a legal battle with the government since his daughter's death, fighting his determination that it was a suicide, and sought Eren's murder to hide his murder. They claimed a “conspiracy” to hide. Court records show that a significant investigation by the authorities has been investigated.

Now, considering Osborne's departure, Podraza says, “Criminal investigations should be automatic.”

“We're going to participate in who will handle it and how it is processed to ensure it is objective, fair and effective,” he added. “We're not going to just sit it down. It's 14 years. …We're going to cross that finish line and hold someone responsible for her murder… we're responsible.”
