Pembroke Principal Nick Taylor told parents in an email: “School security and school staff are on standby and responded quickly and should be commended for their quick action.” Taylor further said police and medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Concerned parents and community members gathered Thursday. North Penn School District Meeting; Demand answers and question the narratives planted in the media. The school district appeared to be trying to deflect questions from parents about the incident.
“This was avoidable, but the district truly failed to protect the students at Pembroke,” one parent said. “What should I tell my children after this? How should I get them back to school?”
Another parent said there were clear signs that school administrators were aware of the threat posed by the alleged attacker, as he appeared to be escorting them around the school due to safety concerns. It pointed out.
“It’s unrealistic. It doesn’t make sense. And you’ll see the meaning later, because somebody had to send this child to school… to know their background, to know everything about this child. ,” said the father, whose child was said to have attended the school. The attacker’s “hit list”.
A young student named Emily testified at the NPSD meeting that she and other students warned school officials that cross-dressing students were planning an attack.
“Wednesday morning I went to my career guidance counselor and told her about it. I was second on the hit list so I knew something was going to happen,” Emily said. Ta. “Because there was a girl they were targeting every day at lunch. And they went to a counselor and told them every day that this was going to happen.”
Emily said school officials to whom she raised concerns reassured her that nothing would happen. The cross-dressing student, who apparently called herself “Melanie,” apparently wanted to prove school officials wrong.
Emily said she and two others warned school officials on the day of the attack that they expected something bad to happen. Afterwards, Emily said, she was told, “‘Be careful, he’s going to pick you up and the other girls at lunch.'”
Emily was in the cafeteria just a few meters away when the attack occurred.
“I heard screaming and I heard people running and I saw Mel running after someone,” Emily recalled. She said, “The girl who was attacked didn’t notice. [coming] Because she turns her back and all of a sudden she hears a terrible, loud bang, like Stanley bouncing off her head. We then see Mel grabbing her by the hair, slamming her into a table, and hitting her repeatedly with her Stanley. ”
“There was blood everywhere,” Emily said, realizing she was at the next table. “All you can see is blood everywhere. … We had to sit there and watch them wipe the blood off the table and the ground. And , I had to watch them take her out with blood dripping down her face.”
Parent Stephanie Palovcak, who attended the meeting and received a concerned phone call from her daughter during Wednesday’s chaos, disputed Taylor’s suggestion that the incident was a fight. “This is not a fight,” her mother said. “This is assault.”
Parovchak also stressed that the school did not respond to repeated warnings from students and parents.
“We had multiple parents who contacted us saying this child was making threats,” Palovchak said, referring to the list of targets.
Some parents noted that the alleged attacker had been expelled from a middle school in another district for violence and inappropriate behavior. However, North Penn Superintendent Todd Bauer insisted that claims that the student was expelled and transferred from another NPSD middle school because of violent behavior on campus are false.
Another parent, Stephen Ross, said his son attended the cross-dresser’s previous school and left a clear impression that the cross-dresser had violent tendencies. Mr Ross noted that there had been an incident outside the school grounds where “an individual came out of a tree and brandished a knife at his son and his friend”.
Parents said Monday was the first day the alleged attacker came to school.
Some community members expressed outrage that media coverage following the attack ignored any mention that the attacker was a biological male.
“Why doesn’t every article say that a boy attacked a girl? Why do half the country keep going back and forth between “he” and “she”?” one father passionately argued. “I’m not against any community, but what’s right is right and what’s fair is fair and that’s not cool. Just because this kid is transgender If they were protected and it wasn’t for any other reason, that’s not the case.”They have a violent past.” ”
A hearing for the alleged attacker is reportedly scheduled for Monday.
