PARIS – Flight Reductions at Paris Lyri Airport Following System Outage
France’s Civil Aviation Authority has instructed airlines to reduce their flight schedules by 40% at Paris Lyri Airport on Sunday evening due to a failure in the air traffic control system.
The DGAC announced that certain “regulations” are necessitating substantial cuts to flight numbers, but details regarding the specific cause of the outage were not provided.
The authority emphasized that its team is “fully mobilized to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.”
Paris Lyri Airport caters to both domestic and international travelers, including routes to various European nations and the United States.
Flights to Spain, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Holland, and Ireland were cancelled on Sunday, while numerous others experienced delays.
Last year, over 33 million passengers used Paris-O’Aurie Airport, which is about half the volume of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
