Paris Jackson faces significant challenge in legal battle over her father's estate.

Paris Jackson’s Legal Battle Faces Setback

In a significant turn in her legal struggle regarding her father Michael Jackson’s estate, Paris Jackson has encountered a major obstacle. A ruling from Los Angeles Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff dismissed the majority of her lawsuit, referencing California’s anti-SLAPP law.

This law was designed to curb lawsuits intended to stifle free speech and to protect individuals from judicial abuse. Only a fraction of Paris’s claims remain under dispute, but a spokesperson indicated that she plans to file an amended petition soon.

“This order concerns minor procedural issues and does not alter the underlying facts. The conduct of the estate executors and their attorneys raises serious concerns, and Paris is dedicated to ensuring fair treatment for the family. We will be submitting an updated application shortly,” a representative for Paris expressed.

Paris initially filed her petition in June, voicing concerns about her compensation from her father’s estate. She alleged that the executors, John Branca and John McClain, disbursed unauthorized bonuses to certain law firms annually, including a questionable $625,000 payment approval sought in 2018.

“These payments seem overly generous, especially considering the attorneys are already well-compensated,” the legal documents stated.

In an October filing regarding Michael’s estate, it was revealed that Paris received approximately $65 million in benefits from her father’s assets, raising questions about the estate’s financial management. The estate’s response highlighted that few have benefited more from the executors’ decisions than Paris herself.

Furthermore, the estate claimed credit for elevating the King of Pop’s estate to a $2 billion valuation, asserting that the executors turned what was once a financial burden into a powerful entity within the music industry.

Interestingly, it’s become known that the estate is currently facing claims from Michael’s alleged abuse accusers, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who are pursuing $400 million in damages.
