Paris pays tribute to musician David Bowie by naming street after him

The city of Paris immortalized the late British music icon David Bowie on Monday by naming a street in the city's southeast after him on what would have been his 77th birthday. It was made into a thing.

The dedication of David Bowie Street was first announced in 2020 by 13th Ward Mayor Jerome Coome. Bowie died of cancer in 2016.

The tribute celebrated Bowie's first Paris performance outside the UK in 1965 and his lasting impact on music, fashion and culture.

This street is roughly between the Botanical Gardens and the National Library.
