Parkinson’s specialist met with Biden’s physician at White House in January

A top neurologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center met with President Biden’s physician at the White House earlier this year, according to White House records.

According to records first reported by the New York Post, Parkinson’s disease expert Dr. Kevin Canard met with Dr. Kevin O’Connor and two others at the White House Residence Clinic on Jan. 17.

The reports come amid heightened scrutiny of the 81-year-old president’s age and mental state following his shaky, wobbly performance at the June 27 debate in Atlanta, Georgia.

Biden repeatedly dodged questions about whether he would undergo a neurological exam, saying, “Nobody’s saying I have to.”

The meeting took place on the same day that Biden visited the White House and hosted House and Senate leaders to discuss financial aid to Ukraine, according to the president’s schedule.

“President Biden remains a healthy and vibrant 80-year-old man with the physical strength to successfully perform the duties of the presidency,” the doctor said at the time.

O’Connor said Biden’s medical exam included a neurological exam, which specifically showed he did not have Parkinson’s disease.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters after the debate that Biden had not had a recent medical check-up.

Biden suggested he had spoken with his doctor after the debate, but a spokesman clarified that it was just a “verbal confirmation” of a recent minor illness.

“He recently had a short verbal check-up about the cold, but it was not a medical check-up or physical exam,” Jean-Pierre said.
