Incident in Chicago Leads to Arrest
Prosecutors have reported that Lawrence Davison unlawfully entered a woman’s residence in the 2800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue late on October 8. He reportedly threatened her with a gun, warning her to stay silent, sexually assaulted her twice, and escaped with some of her belongings.
It seems Mr. Davison, unfortunately for him, made a significant error.
According to a local news outlet, state officials have since revoked Davison’s parole following his arrest.
Authorities mentioned that one of the items he allegedly stole was the victim’s keys, which, interestingly, had Apple AirTags attached. This small detail led investigators directly to him. It’s noted that he was spotted walking around the South Side just hours after the crime.
In a police report, it was indicated that officers stopped Davison in the 400 block of West 77th Street, where they searched his bag. Not only did they find the AirTag, but they also discovered a black Ruger .22 handgun and the victim’s identification.
Davison now faces several serious charges, including armed burglary and multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault while armed. Judge Luciano Panici Jr. has ordered him to remain in custody.
More concerning was the fact that Davison was on parole for a previous violent home invasion. In 2015, he had assaulted a woman in her home, striking her with a baseball bat. After serving a significant portion of his prior sentence, he was released on parole just last November.
With this latest incident, authorities have sent Davison back to prison, where he will complete the remainder of his 10-year sentence, which is set to conclude in November 2026.
