Lauren Bennett, Former GRL Member, Passes Away at 36

Lauren Bennett, known for her hit “Party Rock Anthem” and as a member of the girl group GRL, has died in the UK at the age of 36, according to reports. Her passing occurred in Meopham, Kent, on May 29, not far from London. An autopsy has been scheduled for October.

The exact circumstances of her death remain unclear at this time.

Family’s Heartfelt Response

Bennett’s father, Richard, expressed his profound disappointment regarding the treatment his daughter received from the national healthcare system. He mentioned that Lauren had experienced a severe reaction to medication prescribed to her. “I am saddened by the loss of my beautiful and talented daughter,” Richard wrote online, adding that Lauren was not only an exceptional artist but also a genuinely wonderful person.

He also remarked, “Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and the music she left behind.” Richard shared that Lauren had shown impressive talent from a young age, mentioning how her success in the music industry surpassed their dreams.

Reflecting on her health struggles, he noted, “We did everything we could to support her.” He stated that although they have no doubts about the circumstances of her death, the prolonged lack of proper medical care was deeply disappointing.

The group GRL confirmed her death via an emotional post on Instagram: “Our hearts are broken… her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed.” They emphasized the love and laughter Lauren brought into their lives, remarking how she will be cherished forever.

Lauren gained fame through LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” which Billboard once listed as the fifth most successful song ever. The track’s music video has over 2 billion views on YouTube.

In 2014, she joined GRL alongside Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle, and Emmaline Estrada. The group’s breakout song, “Ugly Heart,” also came out that same year.
