Pasadena Humane recently welcomed a particularly heart-wrenching new resident. Little Peanut, a tiny pup, has faced tremendous challenges; he lost a large portion of his nose due to an injury and is also dealing with a dislocated jaw.
Despite his severe condition, the staff reports that his bravery shines daily. The veterinary team is diligently working to offer Peanut the vital care he requires.
Unfortunately, there’s not enough skin to repair the wound, meaning Peanut’s nose will need to heal from the inside out over the coming weeks. He has a small stent in place to keep his nostrils open while the tissue mends, and he’s striving to lead a normal and joyful life.
His path to recovery is ongoing. Pasadena Humane is reaching out to the community for help in providing the life-saving treatments that Peanut and other animals like him desperately need.
Thanks to Fetch Pet Insurance, all donations made to the Miracle Medical Fund will be matched up to $7,500, which is encouraging. As of now, Peanut is under close watch; if his airway becomes constricted again, additional treatment might be necessary.
Community members can track this journey on social media, where so far, $567 has been raised for his healing.
