“I'm so proud of you for coming out on this cold, snowy day in our nation's capital to speak for those who don't have a voice,” Rowley said.

His mother was married and divorced a total of seven times, he said, and Laurie himself was the product of what he described as “a one-night stand with a guy in Long Beach.”
“So my life was saved from an abortion and then when I put my faith in Christ for eternity.”
She later learned that the man whose name was on her birth certificate was not her biological father.
“I didn't have a father,” he said. “In many ways, I had to be the adult and parental figure in this relationship.”
At the age of 17, Laurie's life changed dramatically when she met those “Jesus freaks.”

Nellie Gray, a Catholic woman, founded the March for Life. And she said more than 50 years later, the March for Life is still a primarily Catholic event.
It is not uncommon to hear rosaries being prayed along the march route, and thousands of young Catholics attend masses and rallies held in and around Washington, D.C., in the days leading up to the march.
Pastor Rowley spoke to Fox News Digital about the importance of Christian unity in matters of life.

“I like to use the analogy that if we were in a war and we were being shot at, we would come together. And I think we are in a spiritual war right now, And I think we have a lot in common — myself included, being a Protestant and having Catholic friends, especially on this issue,” he said.
Lowry was especially happy to see so many young people at the March for Life, he said. Especially since he brought his granddaughters to Washington so they could march with him.
“I wanted people to see the huge number of young people who are rising up here.”

Youth abortion vote could cause surprises on both sides
Those who oppose abortion “are a minority in California,” he says. “But when you attend an event like this, you’re linking arms with thousands of other people.”
After the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, the pro-life movement shifted from calling for changes in the law to changes in attitudes and culture.
Lowry told FOX News Digital that the church's role is to “speak compassionately about this issue.”

He said that while it is important to emphasize the traditional tenets of Christian morality, sin still exists.
“Even Christians fail and sin,” he said. “And there is forgiveness. But don't go in there and complicate matters by taking the life of an innocent unborn child.”

The church “needs to do more about this issue,” he said. “I think we also need to do a better job of supporting the women who are having these babies.”
When the biological father is not present, as is often the case, Christian men in the church community should play that role, just as people did for him, Lowry said.

“Since becoming a Christian, I have found many godly older men who have been mentors and role models for me,” he said. “If you don't mind, your father agrees.”
“That is why the church can effectively become the hands and feet of Jesus.”
