Patel from the FBI addresses rumors of his resignation during the Trump team's Epstein issue.

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed rumors suggesting discord within the Trump administration’s law and order team during a recent statement. These speculations followed a memo from the FBI and the Justice Department denying allegations regarding the much-discussed Epstein client list and the absence of documents detailing his connections. A one-minute gap in Epstein’s cell surveillance video had fueled the fire of controversy, especially considering the circumstances of a lender’s death in prison in 2019.

On Friday, Fox News reported that Dan Bongino, Patel’s second assistant director, was contemplating resignation if Attorney General Pam Bondi remained in her position. There were also unfounded claims that Patel might leave, but he dismissed those on social media, calling them a “conspiracy theory” related to Bondi’s handling of the Epstein case, stating this notion was “just not true.”

Patel expressed his commitment to serving the President in a post, reiterating, “It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States of America @RealdonaldTrump. As long as he calls me, I’ll continue doing it.”

Shortly after, President Trump shared his disappointment on social media over the reactions from his supporters. Some expressed their frustration through a video, while Trump himself questioned why certain things were happening within his circle and praised Bondi’s efforts.

He also shifted some blame for Epstein’s actions onto former leaders like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, suggesting that they were responsible for failing to release information about Epstein that could have been damaging to the administration.

In a previous statement, Trump had described the current state of the country as having transformed from being “dead” to “the hottest country in the world.” He urged followers not to waste energy on Epstein-related matters. The rumors around management transitions seemed to have stemmed from changes in Patel’s biography, where his title as FBI Director was notably absent.

Sources indicated that tensions between Bongino and Bondi arose during a meeting at the White House, with accusations of a lack of transparency in addressing the Epstein files. Bongino reportedly voiced concerns before stepping back from that episode. Yet, Bondi and Patel were seen maintaining a united front, with sources close to Bondi claiming she had no intentions of resigning and that they were in constant communication.

A White House spokesperson emphasized that attempts to create division within the leadership team were unfounded, asserting that Trump’s law and order initiatives were working effectively and cohesively. They reinforced the idea that this unity is crucial to restoring public safety and seeking justice.

The FBI has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding this situation.
