Patrick Mahomes overcomes the disappointment of the Super Bowl by watching others enjoy the pinnacle of the sport.
In the first half of the 69-61 victory over Texas Tech, Mahomes' alma mater in Houston, one Red Raiders fan lined up an incredible 94-foot putt to find a slow, stable path to the hole. I nailed it.
Fans watched quietly while the ball trekked the court. As they passed through the hole, a crowd erupted and Mahomes ran to the court in the bedram.
Mahomes approached the fan, and the two continued to celebrate and the fans cried out, so they jumped into the air for a massive shoulder bump.
It was unclear what fans achieved the impressive feat.
The full court putt is a staple of long shots in college basketball break contests and a half court shot.
The crowd ate it as the eruption from fans was probably the loudest of the game as the Red Raiders failed to complete a season sweep of their state rival.
Mahomes and his wife Brittany were sitting courtside in their hometown over two weeks after losing to the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025 to 40-22.
According to event founder Dave Portnoy, the couple were busy as they allegedly intervened to stop the fight between their father, Patrick Mahomes Sr. and former Braves pitcher John Locker.
In battle, they can finally relax after the tough seasons.
Mahomes, who has had a new haircut after his second Super Bowl loss, spent three years with the Red Raiders under manager Cliff Kingsbury in 2014-16.
