Mahomes will elaborate further in his media session.
After the game, I felt better than I expected. It was definitely painful to start moving during the match, but after the match I was able to rest and cool off and do other things like that. I felt I was in a little better position.Clearly the next morning it was a little better and it continues to get better throughout the week. I hope I can give you a better answer tomorrow.
He also discussed the similarities and differences between this injury and his previous high ankle sprain, as well as quarterback mechanics.
They are very similar just with different ankles. I play and throw different things, especially when I’m playing the quarterback position. Last time it was a landing leg, so I had to find a way to throw it where it could land and keep it in the right position. Throws can be done the right way. In some ways they are definitely similar, but they have distinctly different limitations and what I have to work with.

Given what both the quarterback and his head coach said after the game, it’s unlikely Mahomes won’t be in the AFC Championship Game. The QB suffered a minor ankle sprain in 2019 and didn’t miss, but other quarterbacks with this injury weren’t so lucky.
For example, Mac Jones new england patriots “pretty tough“He suffered a sprained ankle earlier this season and missed three games in New England. Baker Mayfield said high ankle sprain Against San Francisco 49ers Missed 3 games this season carolina panthers.
How Mahomes progresses and how well he performs next weekend will be the big story over the next few days.
