Patrick Mahomes has expressed some disappointment with the challenge at hand for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs play this Sunday on the road against the Browns, next Saturday at home against the Texans, then travel to Pittsburgh for a Christmas Day game on Wednesday — three games in just 11 days.
Mahomes believes a hectic schedule is unhealthy.
“It doesn't feel good,” Mahomes said Wednesday. Featured in USA Today. “I'm looking forward to playing on Christmas, and I'm looking forward to reflecting on last year.'' [when the Chiefs lost on Christmas to the Raiders]But you'll never want to play so many games in such a short amount of time. It's just not good for your body. But at the end of the day, it's your job and your profession. You have to come to work and do it. ”
Nevertheless, this grim situation on the calendar is not surprising, with the quarterback admitting that he tries to prepare his body “all year long for this period.”
“The coaches do a great job on the practice field. We practice as hard as everyone else, but they know how to get it back when they need to. ” Mahomes continued.
Mahomes wasn't the only Chiefs star concerned about disruption.
Star pass rusher Chris Jones said he would report his concerns to the players' association.

“One of the things I'm doing this offseason is going to the NFLPA, especially since we play three games a season. [11-day] Span requires a late bye-bye week,” Jones said. “With our schedule, it's a little awkward, to say the least. That's a conversation that should be had this offseason. If a team has a schedule like that, it's going to be a mandatory bye for the second half of the season. It will become.”
The Chiefs have won two consecutive Super Bowls and have the best record in the NFL with a 12-1 record. As the No. 1 seed in the AFC, they lead the Bills and Steelers by two games.
The Chiefs, Steelers, Texans and Ravens are all in the same situation, playing three games in 11 days.
The Christmas doubleheader will be broadcast on Netflix, making it the first streaming service to acquire live NFL broadcast rights.
