Patrick Mahomes isn’t often associated with his father’s body type, but the two-time Super Bowl MVP confirmed he’s proud of his father’s body type when he answered a question at the 2024 Super Bowl opener. It seemed like he was doing it.
The Chiefs quarterback was a good athlete when asked the question of whether he’d rather go for six-pack abs or another Super Bowl title.
The answer was obvious, but he had a little fun with it.
“There’s definitely going to be another Super Bowl,” Mahomes said. “I have a six-pack, but it’s just below my dad’s figure. If you feel it, there might be skin there, but there’s a six-pack underneath. Get really close. , I think you can see it just by squinting a little.”
By the end, the Chiefs star was all smiles and looking for more questions.
But his concerns about his father’s body didn’t end there.
Mahomes was asked another question and said he wants to have a long career like Tom Brady.
“I work outside the building. I need to take care of myself.” mahomes said. “I’m trying to eat healthy and get rid of my dad body. But I’m trying to do whatever I can to stay healthy and go out there and try to be the best player I can be. please.”
Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, have two children, 2-year-old Sterling Skye and 1-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Labone, which is perhaps why the NFL star is so worried about his father. That’s probably why they’re doing it.
One person was not impressed by this comment. Comedian Bert Kreischer attended the 2024 Super Bowl opener and rolled his eyes at Mahomes in a video posted to X.
“He doesn’t have a father and doesn’t even know what a father is,” Kreischer said. “This is your father’s body.”
The famous comedian then started pulling up his shirt and showing off his beer guts to the camera.
Mahomes is trying to lead the Chiefs to their fourth Super Bowl title and third as quarterback.
If Kansas City wins in Las Vegas on Sunday, it will be the NFL’s second straight title.
