College football camps have begun across the U.S., including for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and several photos have been released showing players practicing.
That includes Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class, who is expected to start in his true freshman season for the Cornhuskers.
Raiola is projected to be in the NFL in the future, but just seeing him arrive at camp, he already looks like one of the league’s biggest stars.

With his curly hair, trimmed beard and large sunglasses, Raiola bore a striking resemblance to Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins star wide receiver who rose to stardom in Kansas City with Mahomes as the quarterback, like many others who saw photos of Raiola rolling onto campus with the bag, couldn’t believe his eyes.
“No way,” Hill wrote with an X and a laughing emoji, tagging Mahomes.

Mahomes responded to Hill by jokingly saying, “That’s my little guy.”
For Raiola, the similarities with Mahomes go beyond appearances.
During Nebraska’s spring games, Raiola wore the number 15, the same number worn by Mahomes for the Chiefs, and from film, his playing style is similar to Mahomes’.
Raiola joins Big Ten coach Matt Rhule with high expectations from a team that finished 5-7 overall and 3-6 in conference play last year.

A five-star recruit out of Buford High School, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound playmaker had offers from around the country, including his hometown Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
But Raiola chose Nebraska, a program that has always felt like home.
“As far as Nebraska goes, I’ve believed for a long time that it’s in my blood, in my heart,” Raiola explained. From Rivals.com“I felt like I was a part of something special, something bigger than myself. Lincoln, Nebraska, is an amazing place and the University of Nebraska is a special place to experience college life and enjoy sports with the best fans.”
Rhule’s relationship with the Raiola family also played a major factor in the quarterback’s signing.
“The difference between Ruhl and a lot of other managers is the way he interacts with the players,” Raiola said.

Raiola is hoping the next step in his football journey will be a positive one, and that could involve emulating a quarterback who looks just like him ahead of his freshman season.
