Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce won three Super Bowls during their tenures.
Mahomes and Kelce are close off the football field, and the star quarterback revealed there’s more to the Chiefs tight end than meets the eye. When he’s not catching passes from Mahomes, Kelce can often be seen partying hard and has been known to down a can or two of her beer.
But Mahomes said Kelce’s party image is just a “persona.”
“He puts on a persona like, ‘I’m partying, I’m drinking.’ [or] If nothing else, he’s really, really smart,” Mahomes told Logan Paul on a recent episode of the podcast “Impaulsive.”

Mahomes said his friendship with Kelce helped them build chemistry on the gridiron.
“He gets open when he gets on the football field, and I know where he’s going to go.” [and] At the same time, I think our friendship was built naturally,” Mahomes said.
Former NFL star Vernon Davis says these factors are responsible for Travis Kelce’s longevity.
The 28-year-old Chiefs quarterback is married to Brittany Mahomes, and the couple has two children. Mahomes has put his partying days on the back burner, joking that he’s having a hard time keeping pace with Travis and his younger brother Jason Kelce.
“I can’t [keep up with the Kelce brothers]. I think I was once like that too, but then I had kids.Now you can hear my voice and I left early every night [when they were in Las Vegas for his charity golf tournament and gala]… These days, you have to make your own choices,” Mahomes explained.

Recently retired Jason Kelce is also a father. Mahomes noted that the former Philadelphia Eagles star will likely face similar challenges in balancing his fatherhood and professional responsibilities.
“Jason has kids, too, so he has to make his own choices, but he can go if he decides,” Mahomes said.

Travis will turn 35 in a few weeks after the start of the 2024 NFL season, but the Chiefs are confident he will continue to play at a high level for the foreseeable future. He recently agreed to a contract extension that makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.
Chiefs general manager Brett Veach told Kelce that he “shows no signs of slowing down.”
“We’ll definitely celebrate this with him, and hopefully we can keep this thing going for even longer,” Veach said shortly after the extension was announced.
“We’ll just have to wait and see, but he shows no signs of slowing down. Everyone noticed what a postseason he had, but he just found that extra gear. These special players can always find extra gear, and again, if anyone can do it, so can Travis.”
