Patrick Mahomes recently shared some insights about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s interactions with his family during a Chiefs practice. He mentioned he would be appearing with Swift that evening on Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” and found it amusing that they opted to call his wife Brittany instead of him post-recording.
“They didn’t call me. They called Brittany. I was just behind Facetime,” Mahomes joked with reporters.
Excited for Swift’s new album release that coincided with the podcast, Mahomes expressed admiration for her creative process. “Honestly, I’m really looking forward to it. Knowing Taylor and understanding how much effort she puts into her albums, it’s impressive. The ‘New Heights’ podcast seems like a great platform for her to just be herself,” he said.
On the other hand, Chiefs coach Andy Reid seemed a bit disconnected from the buzz, admitting he likely wouldn’t watch the podcast. “I feel like I’m pretty old, and my grandchildren will probably know more than I do,” he remarked, adding a light-hearted touch to his age.
As for the album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl,” it has already been a topic of conversation following the podcast episode featuring Swift along with co-host Jason Kelce.
Earlier, hints about the podcast guest had been dropped through silhouettes on social media, and fans quickly pieced it together.
Swift, recognized as Time’s Person of the Year in 2023, made a notable appearance after wrapping up her “Eras Tour,” marking a first for a pop star on the show. Meanwhile, Swift and Brittany have been nurturing their friendship, especially since Swift began dating Kelce in 2023. The two have been seen together in suites at multiple Chiefs games over the season.
Interestingly, they seem to have different political affiliations as Mahomes has liked posts related to Donald Trump, while Swift has shown support for Kamala Harris. It’s curious how friendships can persist despite differing views.
The season began with both women making headlines during the Chiefs-Ravens game but faced backlash after Brittany liked some of Trump’s posts on social media, stirring up complex dynamics among fans. Trump even took notice of the situation, stating he preferred Brittany over Swift. Yet, throughout the season, the camaraderie between both women remained evident, with Swift even congratulating Brittany recently on taking ownership of her music.
