Patrick Mahomes said he was disappointed in the robbery that occurred at his home in Belton, Missouri, just after midnight on October 6th.
“I mean, obviously I’m frustrated.” said the Chiefs quarterback. at a press conference Wednesday. “It's unfortunate. … It's obviously something you don't want to happen to anyone, but obviously it happens to you.”
Mahomes, 29, said he could not discuss details of the incident because the police investigation is ongoing.
It's unclear whether the three-time Super Bowl champion, his pregnant wife Brittany Mahomes, their daughter Sterling, 3, and their son Bronze, 1, were home at the time of the break-in.
TMZ obtained documents from the Cass County Sheriff's Office and reported the news on Tuesday. That includes an Oct. 7 break-in at the home of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the Kansas City area.
Police documents say $20,000 in cash was taken from Kelce's home and the back door was damaged.
The robbery at Kelce's home occurred just after 7:33 p.m., while the NFL star was at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs' Monday Night Football game against the Saints. The Chiefs won 26-13.
Kelsey and girlfriend Taylor Swift were staying at a hotel in downtown Kansas City that night, and TMZ reported that the couple's security guard was “not fooling around” after the break-in.
Kelce has not yet spoken publicly about the situation.
According to TMZ, the FBI is working with local authorities to investigate both incidents.
Mahomes and Kelce are unfazed by the robbery on the field, as the Chiefs are the last undefeated team in the NFL entering the 2024 season.
Kansas City improved to 9-0 with a 16-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
The Chiefs continued their perfect record after linebacker Leo Chenal blocked Broncos kicker Will Lutz's 35-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the game.
The Chiefs will play the Bills (8-2) on Sunday at Orchard Park.
