Patrick Reed furious with himself at Masters: ‘You f–king suck’

Patrick Reed conceded a poor tee shot late in the third round at the 2024 Masters on Saturday.

“Fuck you. Can I have a good golf swing today?” a microphone picked up Reed muttering to himself after he misjudged his tee shot on the 17th and landed among the trees. “Miss it. Hit it hard. I don’t know where it went.”

Caddy Kessler Kaline also didn’t seem to offer any words of encouragement regarding the shot.

“I was walking down that 18th hole and saw my ball land again in the big leaf tree on the right, and I barely managed to advance the golf ball. And the caddy hit me in the face. I looked at him and said, ‘Your driving has cost us a lot this week,”’ Reed said. According to Golf.com.

Saturday was a chance for action for Reed, who opened the first round with a 74 and entered the second round with a 70, but he ended up finishing the third round at Augusta National with a 1-over 73 and a 1-over 70. Sunday arrived. He is eight strokes behind leader Scottie Scheffler in the tournament.

“It was horrible,” Reed said of the trip, according to Golf.com.

“My driving was bad,” he added. “I hit the iron all over the place and lost track of yardage. Then when I figured out yardage, I hit it over the hole. I had to play putt defense all day.”

Reed, 33, hit the green with a 4-iron and managed to hit par.

However, two days after making double bogey, he made bogey on the 18th hole.

Reed, who made the jump from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf in 2022, shot an even-par 72 on Sunday and finished the tournament at 1 over.

His only major win of his career came at the 2018 Masters. Since then, he has finished in the top 10 three times at Augusta National, including a tie for fourth last year.
