Jimmy Patronis, the highest finance officer of Florida, is expected to win the Republican Party's preliminary election in the first parliamentary district of the state, making it a favorite to win the general election of the U.S. House of Representatives in the area. I did it.
Patronis is running to replace the former parliamentarians, Matt Gaets (R-FLA), who resigned from Congress.
Congress districts are one of the most conservative districts in the state. GAETZ easily re -elected in November and won 66 % of votes. The districts on the west bread handle contain Escambia, Okarusa, Santarosa and some of the Walton County.
The special general election of the district is scheduled for April 1.
After Trump recommended to be in his seat, Patronis jumped into the race last November. Following the support of Trump, many previously announced candidates dropped out of the race immediately and supported patronis. However, the state council member Joel Rudoman (R) remained in the primary.
