Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has faced multiple traffic violations in recent years, culminating in a crash where he hit a parked Tesla in Napa Valley earlier this month.
The 86-year-old reportedly had at least eight driving infractions over the past ten years before the incident on July 3 in Yountville. According to a recent report, he has been cited for speeding, running red lights, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
There are even claims from an anonymous source close to Pelosi that his recent accidents might be attributed to age and declining health.
In May 2022, he was involved in another accident when he crashed his Porsche into another car after leaving a dinner party. At that time, his blood alcohol level was measured at 0.082%, leading him to plead guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge for causing injury.
Later, in December 2023, he received another ticket for ignoring a left turn signal while driving a Porsche in San Francisco.
His history includes a 2017 stop for driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and in 2014, he was cited for using a cellphone while driving. Last year, he also ran a red light in San Mateo County and neglected to stop at a stop sign in San Francisco.
Back in 2011, he accumulated three tickets and a warning over five months, including speeding on a highway and crossing a double yellow line near his Napa Valley home. That same year, he faced multiple charges for running red lights and failing to stop properly in Napa County.
Interestingly, a tragic incident from Pelosi’s past surfaced as well. In 1957, when he was a teenager driving a Corvette, he lost control and fatally injured his 19-year-old brother, David. Reports indicated that moments before the crash, David urged his brother to slow down. Ultimately, he was acquitted of any wrongdoing.
