Paul Walter Hauser Discusses Faith and Upcoming Animated Series

Emmy Award-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser, recognized for his performances in blackbird and the upcoming inside out 2, has been open about his Christian faith. He believes that it’s beneficial for society when people discuss their beliefs candidly.

Hauser gained significant acclaim for his leading role in richard jewel, showcasing his range with family-friendly films like inside out 2 and Cruella. His Emmy-winning performance in black bird further solidified his reputation.

In a series of videos for a nonprofit called I Am Second, he and his wife shared their Christian faith earlier this year. Hauser expressed optimism about the new animated series on Prime Video, chosen adventure, which is rooted in a live-action project titled the chosen one. The story follows a nine-year-old girl named Abby as she meets her friend Joshua in Capernaum during the 1st century.

chosen adventure is set to be released on October 17. Hauser noted that while many athletes are becoming more at ease expressing their faith, actors and musicians tend to remain quieter. He pointed out a “strange fear” in Hollywood regarding discussions about faith.

Hauser remarked, “It’s almost unhealthy to avoid discussing faith.” Throughout his life, he has been encouraged to speak about his beliefs freely. He cited a verse encouraging openness about the gospel, saying, “I’ve always feared not mentioning God more than I feared talking about Him.” He hopes individuals, regardless of their faith, can find healthy ways to express their beliefs.

In relation to chosen adventure, he mentioned his admiration for the live-action series, praising its quality and noting it doesn’t resemble typical faith-based productions. He believes the worldwide success of this work stems from its authentic portrayal of humanity and the duality of Jesus being both divine and human.

Furthermore, Hauser shared that the animated series, produced by the same team behind the chosen one, aims to foster or strengthen viewers’ relationships with God. He emphasized that God welcomes all questions and encourages open communication, noting the importance of maintaining a relationship with Him.
