Texas Attorney General Criticizes Opponent During Rally
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton addressed supporters in Corpus Christi, Texas, just before President Donald Trump took to the stage.
As the Republican Senate nominee, Paxton took aim at his Democratic opponent, state Representative James Talarico, labeling him as out of touch with Texas values.
“James Talarico, the most radical Democrat to ever run in Texas history,” Paxton remarked.
Paxton expressed concerns over Talarico’s stance on several issues, including the transition of minors to different genders, men participating in women’s sports, and a past comment in which Talarico stated that “God is nonbinary.”
“He said it was indoctrinating children for the legislature to put the Ten Commandments in our schools,” Paxton added.
Highlighting Talarico’s voting history, Paxton accused him of having supported a state income tax, opposing border security measures, and attempting to eliminate the oil and gas industry in Texas.
“He said you cannot be a Christian and support the oil and gas industry,” Paxton continued.
Framing the upcoming election as pivotal for both Texas and the nation, Paxton emphasized the stark differences between his platform and Talarico’s.
“If you vote for a guy like James Talarico versus me, we end up 3,000 miles apart,” he noted.
With the midterm elections just a week away, he urged Texans to pray for their leaders and encourage their fellow Republicans to get out and vote.
During the rally, a large cargo ship could be seen, which Trump mentioned in his speech, announcing the arrival of one million barrels of oil from Venezuela. This oil deal is hailed as the largest in history and was provided at no cost to American taxpayers.
Trump also endorsed several candidates, including Governor Greg Abbott, who is seeking reelection, and praised Paxton as the best attorney general Texas has seen.
“President Trump urges Texas voters to send Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate, praising their work together on border security and warning against voter fraud ahead of the election,” a social media post stated.
