The playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, broadcast exclusively on Peacock on Saturday night, became a source of anger for some NFL fans watching the game.

New York sports radio legend Mike Francesa was among those who complained that week about games being broadcast on streaming services.

He posted a post on X before the game started.

“The adventures of the NFL's greedy peacocks are not only shameful,” he wrote. “But the quality of the television broadcast is equally disgraceful. Please fix the technology.”

It's unclear what kind of “technology” Francesa was complaining about. Some fans who downloaded Peacock complained that the broadcast was choppy.

“Great job, @peacock. Broadcasting NFL playoff games on Pixelvision is a stroke of genius. Maybe they'll add a server or two before they try to hold the fans hostage with some junk service. No,” one fan wrote.

“Your streaming is terrible! Jerky, buffering, and washed out colors,” another user added.

As Peacock showed Taylor Swift at the game, a fan wrote: “Thank you for the photo Taylor. Now fix your stream.”

Naturally, Peacock's help desk was responding to fans and trying to help fix the stream.

Last Sunday, Francesa was also upset about the Peacock game.

“Peacock playoff monopoly. Nothing but greedy and complete disregard for our amazing fans. The NFL put $110 million into this game and the fans should be damned,” he wrote.

Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu seemed surprised to learn the game would be played exclusively on streaming services.

“Playing just Peacock is insane, I won't lie,” he wrote in X.

However, he offered 90 people a free three-month Peacock membership to redress his fans' dissatisfaction. Fans were thrilled when he made the offer.

The game would be seen in local markets, but other parts of the country would have to turn to Peacock to watch the game. This was the first time an NFL playoff game was available exclusively through streaming.
