Pascals’ Playful Kiss Request on “The Late Show”
In a surprising moment during the May 12 episode of “The Late Show,” Pedro Pascal unexpectedly asked Stephen Colbert for a kiss. The star of “The Last of Us” was there to promote his work related to “The Mandalorian” and Grogu but decided to bring some lightheartedness into the mix.
Sitting across from Colbert, Pascal made a cheeky gesture, pouting his lips and tapping them with his finger, clearly signaling his desire. Despite Colbert trying to steer the conversation, Pascal kept winking and pointing at his lips, adding a bit of playful tension.
“I’m glad to have you back. People may not know this…” Colbert began, but Pascal wasn’t having any of it, instead nudging for those kisses. Then, right in the middle of a sentence, Colbert leaned in and gave Pascal a quick peck on the lips.
“I’m jealous!” Pascal exclaimed, as laughter erupted from the audience. Colbert seemed totally unfazed, casually saying, “What? You don’t have to, anytime,” and adding, “These lips will soon be freed.”
This kiss wasn’t the only headline-maker of the night. As the show approached its final episode, Colbert transformed the studio into a whimsical kiss-fest, inviting several celebrity guests to join in. Just before Pascal, Colbert even shared a playful kiss with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on air.
The day before, Colbert had kicked off this quirky trend by kissing Jimmy Fallon, humorously noting his growing list of on-set smooches with Hollywood stars.
When Louis-Dreyfus encouraged Colbert to include her name on his list, she whispered, “No one’s looking. It’s just between us.” Colbert, playing along, replied, “What’s the harm?” To which she joked, “Nothing. What could go wrong?” They then shared a kiss, adding, “Well, the interview is going well so far. Why don’t we try it again?”
Colbert had quite the roster of celebrity kisses, mentioning names like Sally Field, Helen Mirren, Allison Janney, Jeff Daniels, and Andrew Garfield during the May 11 episode. “Jane Fonda, we didn’t make out, but she stuck her tongue in my ear,” he recalled, closing that segment on a humorous note.
