Pelosi Claims Trump’s Visit To Capitol Hill Shows Mission To ‘Dismantle Our Democracy’

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke Thursday about an upcoming visit to the U.S. Capitol, accusing former President Donald Trump of being on a “mission to dismantle our democracy.”

“Today, the mastermind of the riots returned to the scene of the crime. January 6th.Number “This act of flying Nazi and Confederate flags beneath the Dome that Lincoln built is a crime against our Capitol,” Rep. Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement.

But a Google search to see what flags were raised by bystanders at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 turned up no images of the Nazi swastika flag being flown at protests.Number2021. “This was a crime against our Constitution and the peaceful transfer of power, a desperate attempt to cling to power,” Pelosi continued, “and a crime against members of Congress, heroic police and staff, resulting in death, injury and trauma that continues to this day.”

Pelosi, an ardent opponent of President Trump, misinterpreted comments made by President Trump last year, claiming that if re-elected, he would ultimately become a “dictator” during his four years as president.

“From day one, Donald Trump pledged to be a dictator and exact revenge on his political enemies, and he comes to Capitol Hill today with the same mission: to dismantle our democracy,” Pelosi said. “But make no mistake: Trump has already inscribed a legacy of disgrace in our hallowed halls.”

But Trump’s real comments painted an entirely different story.

“He said, ‘You’re not going to be a dictator,’ and I said, ‘No, no, no,’ except for the first day. We closed the border, we kept drilling, drilling, drilling. And after that, I’m not going to be a dictator,” Trump said, drawing applause from the audience.

Ahead of the November election, the former president will travel to Washington for a speaking engagement hosted by the Business Roundtable and meet with the Senate Republican Caucus for policy-focused discussions.

According to a representative for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), Johnson will also speak to the House Republican Conference on “Expanding the House Republican Majority and the 2025 Legislative Agenda.” The Hill According to reports.

Speaker Pelosi, who had a highly tumultuous relationship with Trump during her time as Speaker of the House, now frequently employs fear-mongering tactics to keep voters from electing the former president, as she has consistently warned that a Trump reelection would be disastrous.
