Pelosi does not promise to impeach Trump if Democrats regain control.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi avoided a direct answer during a Tuesday interview when asked if she’d consider impeaching President Donald Trump if Democrats regain control in November. MS NOW’s Ali Vitali referred to ongoing “corruption” as a significant issue.

Vitali pointed out that Democrats have been hesitant to discuss impeachment prospects and pressed Pelosi about whether she believes Trump has committed anything impeachable during his second term.

Pelosi responded, “I don’t think so, we don’t start there, but once we have power, we can focus on what we promised, like lowering living costs. Some people suggest we phrase it differently, but I think health care reform is crucial. Corruption is a topic we will tackle. That’s what we aim to do.”

When pressed again about potential grounds for impeachment, particularly with voters expressing concerns over “corruption,” Pelosi reiterated that it ultimately rests with the new Congress to evaluate Trump’s actions, emphasizing that it’s a complex process. “It takes more than a simple desire to move forward,” she said.

Despite past impeachment efforts, Pelosi expressed that she has no regrets about acting during Trump’s first term. She mentioned, “We have a convicted felon in the presidency, and that’s something worth re-examining. The new Congress will decide how to proceed.” She also acknowledged the need for the Democratic agenda to address constituents’ needs.

Pelosi announced that she would not seek re-election when her term ends in January 2027. In a previous interview, she had stated that there wasn’t enough reason to disrupt Trump’s presidency, specifically referring to the first term. However, she noted that if certain actions were taken, particularly crossing legal boundaries, it could warrant a different discussion.
