Pelosi: Trump is 'worst thing on the face of the earth'

Pelosi Criticizes Trump in CNN Interview

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently labeled President Trump as “the worst person on the planet” during an interview with CNN’s Elex Michaelson.

In a video snippet shared on X, Pelosi expressed, “He’s just a vile creature. The worst thing on the planet.”

This interview is set to air in full on “The Story Is With Elex Michaelson” at midnight ET.

Pelosi did not hold back in her critique, stating that Trump “has no respect for the Constitution” and has “turned the Supreme Court into a corrupt court.” She also discussed Trump’s sway over House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), asserting that he “has abolished the House” and “chilled the press” during his administration.

The tension between Pelosi and Trump is not new. Last year, Trump criticized Pelosi on social media, calling her “dangerous” and “evil” in response to her statements regarding the January 6, 2021, insurrection.

On Monday morning, reports surfaced from NBC News indicating that several Democrats in California believe that Pelosi, now 85, may not run for re-election.

Ian Craiger, Pelosi’s communications director, addressed this on X, stating that she is “fully focused” on California’s redistricting initiative ahead of the upcoming election vote on Tuesday.

When asked about her plans for 2026, Pelosi sidestepped the question, mentioning she is concentrating on redistricting efforts to help Democrats regain control of the House and protect against the “toxicity of the Trump administration.”

If Proposition 50 is approved, it would shift control of California’s redistricting from an independent commission to the state Legislature.

This proposal, endorsed by California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and former President Obama, was placed on the ballot following the Republican-led Texas Legislature’s redrawing of its congressional maps back in 2010.

Several candidates have already entered the Democratic primary for Pelosi’s district, including state Senator Scott Wiener and Saikat Chakrabarti, a former chief of staff to New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

However, Pelosi expressed confidence in a potential 20th term in Congress, stating, “That’s not even a question. I’m not arrogant. I’m competent. I know my district.”
