According to TMZ Sports, Malikun's home security system was not working during the break-in. All three of Malkin's Stanley Cup rings were stolen.
No arrests have been made as of this writing. The Penguins are working with the Allegheny County Police Department to identify the suspect.
The robbery targeted the home of a famous athlete who was away for a match. In the NFL, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow have all been robbed. In the NBA, the home of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was also damaged.
The FBI is investigating the robberies and believes they are all related.
