In December, Pennsylvania State Police arrested a suspect who posed as a law enforcement officer during a fake traffic stop.
According to the Lemen County Sheriff's Office, Paul Dolan was charged with impersonating a public servant, driving without a license and receiving stolen property. He was also charged with drug, weapons and theft charges.
Police reported the situation after a driver was stopped by Dolan on Dec. 13.
“This individual reported a flat tire on Old 115 just before Church Road and was approached by a white male who identified himself as a police officer,” a Lemen County Sheriff's Office Facebook post reads. . “The man requested that the plaintiff move his vehicle from Old 115 to a dirt section of Church Road.”

Police said Dolan “made multiple statements about being a police officer” and said he worked at a nearby barracks. He also claimed that the suspect had been sent overseas.
Dolan was arrested on December 23rd, and police executed a search warrant on his vehicle on December 24th. Officers reportedly found police equipment believed to have been stolen, as well as drugs and weapons.

“After investigation, officers determined that he had never served in the military and was not a police officer,” police said. “During this investigation several incriminating facts were discovered which subsequently led to the arrest of this man.”
