Penny Lancaster Celebrates Long-Lasting Relationship with Rod Stewart

Penny Lancaster, reflecting on her 26-year partnership and 18-year marriage to Rod Stewart, humorously claims she deserves a medal for their enduring bond.

In an interview with Best Magazine, the 55-year-old mother discussed how they have “maintained a close relationship” over nearly two decades of marriage. “Yes, I’m 26! I deserve a medal, don’t I?” she joked, playfully downplaying it.

Their story began in 1999 when Penny was studying at Barking University. They tied the knot in 2007 and have since welcomed two sons, Alastair Wallace and Aiden Patrick. Notably, Stewart was already a father of six when they married.

As a blended family, Lancaster emphasized the importance of carving out time for one another amidst their busy lives. “We don’t take each other for granted and always make sure we go on dates together,” she shared. “Whether it’s dinner, the theater, or school events, we even stop for ‘great’ coffee on the way home and take romantic walks.” Their playful banter and laughter, she noted, keeps the spark alive.

Lancaster highlighted how they celebrate milestones in their relationship, noting, “We love celebrating anniversaries and value each other deeply.” For their last wedding anniversary, they took a romantic train journey from Paris to Portofino, recalling fond memories from when Rod proposed in Paris, and they got married in Portofino. “It’s a more romantic trip,” she added.

However, the biggest secret to their successful relationship? Lancaster believes it’s the necessity of “time away,” which she insists is crucial for keeping the connection vibrant.
