Penny Lancaster and Kimberly Stewart Share Special Moment

Penny Lancaster and Kimberly Stewart recently connected over the experiences of motherhood after Kimberly gave birth to her first child. It seems that this bond felt particularly significant.

In a podcast episode from 2011 titled “Postcards from Midlife,” Lancaster mentioned how Kimberly assisted her during a tough time when she struggled to produce enough breast milk for her newborn, Delilah. Six months after welcoming her second son, Kimberly offered her milk to her granddaughter, although she didn’t actually breastfeed her.

Lancaster, who’s been married to Rod Stewart since 2007, noted that if her husband had been against having children, she might have considered leaving him. That’s a bold statement, right? She reflected on that idea, admitting the difficulty it would have caused.

During a discussion, she expressed, “I wasn’t breastfed; I gave her breast milk.” It was a heartfelt moment for her, recognizing the importance of nourishment for the child, stating, “What’s most important for this child?” She believed her milk offered the necessary nutrients and antibodies.

Stewart and Lancaster have two sons together, Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14. Interestingly, the “Forever Young” singer has five grandchildren and six children from previous relationships.

Reflecting on motherhood, Lancaster shared that some plans had to be adjusted after deciding to have children with Rod. “Yes, I would have left him,” she admitted, revealing how they managed to navigate their family journey together.

Five years ago, they considered adoption but felt uncertain about it. Lancaster mused, “I thought there might be too much age gap.” It’s a complicated decision; she even joked about being a mother of three, humorously calling Rod a “big baby” who requires her attention in a different way.

“I think every woman would probably say that about her husband,” she commented, adding a lighthearted touch to her reflections on motherhood and partnership.
