Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced in a video statement Monday evening that Government Efficiency (Doge) had identified roughly $80 million that departmental teams spend on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Parnell revealed some of what Doge has found so far:
– $1.9 million for overall DEI transformation and training in the Air Force.
– Strengthen American democracy by bridging the divisions of $6 million to the University of Montana.
– $3.5 million in defense personnel activities for support to the DEI group.
– and is studying the $1.6 million “social and institutional harmlessness of vulnerability and resilience to the African Sahel climate dangers.”
Parnell said in his statement: This is not what we do. This is a distraction from our core mission. ”
He added that these were “first discoveries” that would save $80 million on wasted spending, indicating that more would come.
“Look, look forward to it. Today's actions are just the beginning. We should come more this week,” he said.
“Again, we're grooming together with Doge, so please get attention in the coming weeks as we're going to get fatty, save muscles, make DOD more missions and make it even more deadly,” he said.
