An ailing Florida youth basketball coach accused of sexually abusing several children during a disturbing sleepover party and then offering to buy the kids from their parents for $5,000, according to reports.
Carl Lombard, 58, who coached children at the Boys and Girls Club of Ocala, allegedly sexually abused several boys at his home last month and then refused to return one of the 15-year-old boys to his parents, police said. Reported Monday by WCJB-TV News.
The pervert had videotaped the boy writing a letter to his parents asking to stay at his coach's house, and police say the boy was forced to write the letter.
The suspected child molester told parents they were free to call the police because he had a spotless reputation and a working relationship with local schools, and even offered to buy the children.
However, when Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived on the scene on August 31 and took the children back to the home, the children allegedly told officers that Lombard had engaged in inappropriate acts and taken nude photographs of them, leading to an investigation.
According to the outlet, child pornography images were later discovered on his cell phone.
Last week, Lombardo was indicted on nine charges, including possession of child pornography, sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16 and human trafficking. According to online records.

Meanwhile, Lombardo's neighbors told WCJB they'd always suspected something was wrong with Lombardo.
“That's the vibe he gave off,” neighbor Vanessa Velez told the station. “My husband said from day one that he was creepy.”
Lombardo is being held without bail.
